A lovely red C7 Corvette Z06 heads to Cecil County Dragway in Maryland for some fun.
An 11-second quarter mile is plenty respectable, especially for a car that (we assume) is bone stock—Chevrolet claims a 10.95 second quarter mile at 127 mph. We’ve seen plenty of Z06s with dizzying amounts of horsepower running epic times, so it’s nice to get back to basics.
Against a 1969 Camaro, however, both cars look and sound real fine heading down that quarter-mile.
Ultimately, the Camaro runs an 11.05 quarter mile, at 125 mph—beating the stock Z06. A close race, separated only by .08 of a second, and 60 years of progress.
