Say what you may, but you’ve gotta feel bad for Jalopnik’s Patrick George. Patrick was one of the many flown in by GM to test the all new 2016 sixth-generation Camaro at Belle Isle this past weekend, the same track that plays host to the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix next week, but unfortunately for him the day was abruptly cut short when the Camaro he was piloting found it’s way into a wall during his review.
“When the crash happened, I was the second Camaro mule in a train of cars following a lead driver in a Z/28. But as I came up on one corner, I made a mistake, took a line that was all wrong and braked far later than I should have, inducing terminal understeer” — said George.
Thankfully Patrick and his cameraman were unscathed in the crash. The Camaro did not fare as well with damage to the front left quarter and wheel, driver door, mirror, and of course a badly bruised ego.
You’ve got to give him credit for posting up the video and offering a sincere, humbling apology for the incident.
You can read his full account of the event over on Jalopnik.
