This could be the most collectible 1978 Corvette Pace Car we’ve ever stumbled upon. With only 56 miles on the clock, this C3 pace car is as good if not better than the day it left the assembly line.
1978 was the 25th anniversary for “America’s Sports Car” and the first time the Corvette was tapped to pace the Indy 500.
This particular 78′ features the optional L82 350 engine which produced 220 hp (35 hp more than the standard L48) and a 4-speed manual transmission. Of the 6,502 1978 Corvette “Pace Cars” produced, only 220 were optioned this way. The last two that crossed the auction block with this spec sold for $75,000.
Head on over to eBay if you think this deserves a spot in your garage!
